Hi folks!

I have been trying to put together a regular playtesting group that meets on Monday and Thursday afternoons. I know most people aren't available during weekdays, but I figure there must be some gamers who work on different shifts, attend school, or whatnot. If you are interested in having a prototype playtested or simply playing new games from local designers, we would love to have you join us!

We meet Monday and Thursday every week at noon at Game Night Games. Please bring a prototype or just yourself and come have some fun!

Thanks!
This is a free admission league with no entry fee and no prizes - just good old fashioned competition. We will keep track of stats and post them on our website and in the store.

We will start with 500 point armies in May for both leagues and escalate the point requirements each month. This means there would be two meetups using the same point scale each month for each system.

Wings of War/ Wings of Glory WWI night on the 1st and 3rd Thursday! 7pm

Wings of War is being brought to life again in Wings of Glory.
Ares Games (http://www.aresgames.eu/upcoming-products) is continuing this great game. They just released the WWII set. Looks cool, but the real excitement is in the WWI game. Ares is putting out super heavy biplane bombers. They look awesome, plus their first release of 16 single engine planes includes monoplanes, early war planes, 1915.
These big beasts should be out soon. Great pics on the internet.

There seems to be quite a few people interested in playing. We had four players on Thursday (4/12) with a balloon objective. I meet another player today (4/14) who has a large collection including balloons. Also, I heard a group played last Saturday during the war games time slot.

If your are interested in bi-monthly play with possible campaign style missions (central vs. axis) and a leader board involving "ace" bonuses come join us.

Hope to see you on April 26th, 7pm.

Hey everyone I have been talking with Mike for a while now about doing a painting class/get together on one or two sundays a month. This is still very much in the concept stage I am just curious if there is any kind of interest for something like this. As far as a painting class I do not belive it would cost any money but if people could bring in their own paint/brushes that would be nice. For those starting out I will have extra paint and brushes for people to use at the store for the day(s) that the class was happening. The other thing is its just nice to get together with other people to hangout, paint, and chat.
I am a pretty good painter and would gladly be willing to help people figure out how to paint. As a good looking army/character (for those D&D players out there) is part of the fun of table top gaming. You can see some of my work at
Hope to hear some responses one way or another.

Hello all, my name is Scott Hilton and I'm looking for 1-2 players to join a campaign already in session. The campaign is a Pathfinder module called Curse Of The Crimson Throne. It is an adventure that spans levels 1-17 and six books. Currently the group is just breaking into the third book called Escape From Old Korvosa. I'm looking for 1-2 people, either veteran or new, who could make it from 6-10 on Thursdays for campaign. If Thursdays don't work for you then don't worry! In April Game Night Games will be MOVING RPG NIGHTS from Thursdays to Wednesdays. Please let me know if you are interested. I can teach you the system, get you up to date on the adventure, and anything else if you let me know!

Thanks all

So I know not a ton of people read this, but today (18 March) a couple of us at the store were talking with Mike, an employee, about starting a Fantasy escalation league, running on Sundays and probably being like the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. Some friends of mine from Santa Cruz just started a league, and I like their ideas so I stole them and created the following rules. They are open for critique if you guys can think of better stuff, but I certainly think this is a good start point:

Start: Unknown

Sign Up: We would love it if you could start the league with us, but you are free to jump in anytime! Contact Brett Merkley (merkbc@gmail.com or on facebook) or Game Night Games (info@gamenightgames.com) or go down to Game Night Games 2148 S 900 E Suite 2, Salt Lake City, 84106 (801-467-2400). Please leave your name and some form of reliable contact.

List Restrictions: No special characters allowed. Lists are fixed for the week; submit your lists every Monday, either in person or by email. Every army needs a general! “Proxying” is allowed (if you do not have the actual models, a placeholder is just fine!).

Scenario: Standard faceoff. Games won based on % of points killed (the person who kills the most wins!).

Brackets: Round Robin. Record calculated by W-L-T

Participants:
Calendar:

1st Week
First meeting. Please try to make the first meeting so all the participants can meet each other and we can go over match pairings as well as go any issues/questions. Games will be 500 points and last 4 turns. Games under 1000 points run on the short side. To compensate we will play a best of 3 series for all games under 1000 points. Games over 1000 points will be best of 1.

2nd Week
500pts, 4 turns, best of 3

3rd Week
750pts, 4 turns, best of 3

4th Week
750pts, 5 turns

5th Week
1000pts, 5 turns

6th Week
1000

7th Week
1500pts, 6 turns

8th Week
1500pts, 6 turns

9th Week
2000pts, 6 turns

10th Week
2000pts, 6 turns

11th Week
2500pts, 6 turns

12th Week
2500pts, 6 turns

End of League Tournament:
3000pts 6 turns
No restrictions except those in the army books, i.e. Dark Elf Black Guard are units of 5-20 models only.

Thoughts folks?
My greenskin "Orkrish" are looking for a fight on their day of days!
This Saturday is Saint Patrick's Day. No better day to battle the orkish masses. I will be at the store with 2,500 pts of fighting Orkrish. Maybe even a fighta bomba or two. Lets Play! I believe Necrons and Grey Knights will be there with 2,500 too! Also I think we will have some Blood Angels (2,500), as well.
Lets coordinate and get some gaming in or a league started?
